Salt and Light
Jesus began his teaching with a series of blessings that have come to be known as the Beatitudes. Then immediately after blessing us, he declared…
“You are the salt of the earth…you are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:13-14).
The light of the world? What does that mean? How can I possibly see myself in that way?
We’re going to discover that we can’t comprehend Jesus’ statements calling us the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world” unless we understand that they are directed to us both as individuals and as the church—people joined together as “the Body of Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:27).
In our “Salt and Light” series we’re going to journey together in seeing and participating in the amazing work of God here and now—in our community and around the world.
During this Sunday series we’ll run on a parallel track with our Wednesday evening messages as we look at what it means for Christ to be “In the Flesh” today.
