Dropping the Nets

“The Journey”

One day Jesus stood on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. There he encountered two fishermen, Simon and Andrew, tending their nets. He called out to them, “Come, follow me” (Matthew 4:10). Inexplicably, they left their nets and joined Jesus on an amazing journey. These two brothers, along with ten other men, would come to be known as Jesus’ disciples.

That word—“disciples”—is still used today to refer to followers of Jesus. But what does it mean to be a disciple? What do disciples do? How do they act? What do they believe? How are their lives different? What does the world look like to a disciple?

We want to explore those questions by looking at the journey to which we are called. Let’s sojourn together.
