work and witness
JaxNaz Work and Witness teams are some of the more than 150,000 people that have been mobilized through the Church of the Nazarene’s Work & Witness ministry, resulting in more than 5000 years of donated labor worldwide. Work & Witness teams go to every region of the world and partner with local churches in construction projects, technical needs, evangelism and compassionate ministries.
Work & Witness is one of the greatest movements in the history of the Church of the Nazarene. It was not a planned program of the World Mission Department but a ministry that began with a group of concerned laymen who wanted to meet the needs that they saw around them. As global access became easier, so did the opportunity to experience missions first hand through personal involvement.
Work and Witness is all about connecting teams with needs. Help with construction, medical, technical, and evangelistic needs may be offered by teams of 2 or more people. The team’s willingness to be available for up to 21 days and to pay all of their expenses is a key dynamic of the Work and Witness ministry. This self-funded movement has given Nazarene missions a huge boost into the 21st century.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9.
SERVE YOUR world!
GUIDELINES TO SERVE
You don't have to be perfect to serve. We believe that when you do serve, people hear Jesus in your words and see him in your actions. Plus, the bible teaches that you are actually serving Jesus (Matthew 25:35-49). So, people see him in you and you get to see him in them!
Therefore, ask the following of our volunteers:
1. Treat every person with dignity.
2. Demonstrate grace to those you serve.
3. Love your neighbor as yourself. (Mark 12:31)
That's pretty much it.
