THE SKINNY ON GIVING

1. IT HAS TO START WITH THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE

God is the creator of all things. That means He made the minds and hands we use to earn money and develop our skills. We are (or at least we ought to be) grateful for that, so to show our appreciation, we allow God to use the gifts He's given us to do His work...however He wants; it's His call. We just have to make our resources available for Him to use.

2. GIVING ISN'T JUST ABOUT MONEY

There are loads of additional ways to give, too. We serve a creative God who wants us to be creative, too! Give some of your time, putting your skills or talents to work for God. Serve on the front lines or behind the scenes. There are literally hundreds of opportunities to serve God in dozens of ways.

Check out all of our opportunities to SERVE, or visit the Catalyst Center in the Commons for more information.

3. BUT GIVING IS ALSO ABOUT MONEY

Yes, the Bible teaches that we should worship God by giving our material possessions up for His use. That includes our money. The Old Testament guideline for giving is the tithe - giving 10% of your income to God’s work through the church, The New Testament guideline for giving says we should give what we are able so no one has too much and no one has too little. However you give, just make sure you give. God wants us to give our all. When we hold back our money, we hold back a part of ourselves and that means we are getting in our own way - interfering with the fullness of the blessings God wants to pour out for His fully devoted followers.

You can give securely online anytime. You can also give with cash or by writing a check during any of our worship services.
