Questions for Reflection:

World-weary is defined as “feeling or indicating feelings of weariness, boredom, or cynicism as a result of long experience of life (often because of having too much experience of a particular way of life).” Is there a particular way of life that has left you world-weary?

Is there a place or time you travel back to when you’re weary; one that seems lighter/easier/simpler? If so, what is it?

We’re not quite ourselves when we’re weary. We sometimes react in ways we’re not proud of. An angel delivered some weary-worthy news to Mary. She may have been tempted to escape, retreat, run away from it all, but she didn’t. Instead, she went forward to meet God in his plan and calling. How can you move forward today?

Key Verse(s)

Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her. Luke 1:38

Come to me (don’t run away), all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (what a wonderful invitation). Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light (you don’t have to carry this alone, let me bear the unbearable). Matthew 11:28-30
