As Yourself - Self Talk
Questions for Reflection
When asked which commandment is the most important, Jesus answered: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” The second is this: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:30-31)
What did Jesus mean by “as yourself”? What is the correlation between how we love others and how we love ourselves?
How are you at loving yourself, specifically in the area of self-talk? How loving are the things you say about yourself? How loving are the things you think about yourself? Positively or negatively, how does this affect your interactions with others?
In order to break through Moses’ doubts, insecurities, and negative self-talk, God needed to lift his gaze. He said, “I am. I will be all you need when you need it.” What area of your life do you most need to hear and believe those words?
